Nigerian music legend Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has disassociated himself from an Instagram post that claimed he and his wife, Annie Macaulay-Idibia, were separating.
On Sunday, January 26, 2025, a message was shared from the Afrobeats icon’s verified Instagram account, announcing an alleged separation and divorce filing between the celebrity couple.
The now-deleted post stated:
“Hello to my beautiful people of all FEDERATIONS.
WELL THIS THING I HAVE TO SAY IS SHORT BUT ALSO LONG… I AND ANNIE MACAULAY HAVE BEEN SEPARATED FOR A WHILE NOW. AND CURRENTLY FILED DIVORCE…
I WOULD GRANT A PRESS RELEASE SOON TO SAY MY STORY… NOT BECAUSE IT IS ANYONE’S RIGHT TO KNOW ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE; BUT BECAUSE I LOVE MY PEOPLE AND I NEED THEM TO KNOW MY INNOCENCE OR OFFENSE.
STAY BLESSED MY PEOPLE. I LOVE YOU ALL.”

However, shortly after the post went live, 2Baba clarified through his Instagram Story that the announcement was not from him. He revealed his account had been hacked and assured fans that steps were being taken to regain control.
“My Instagram account has been hacked, efforts are being carried out to take back control #onelove!” he wrote on his Story.
The incident caused a stir online, as 2Baba and Annie Macaulay-Idibia are one of Nigeria’s most admired celebrity couples. Fans and supporters expressed relief after the clarification, urging the singer to secure his account against further breaches.
