35-Year-Old Man Allegedly Commits Suicide in Ogun State
The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the death of a 35-year-old man, Emmanuel Urhobocha, in Sango-Ota, located in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.
According to Omolola Odutola, the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun Police Command, Urhobocha was discovered lying face down with a container of insecticide found nearby. The incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
Odutola revealed that the deceased’s roommate, Obabiyi David, reported the situation to the Sango-Ota Police Division. David mentioned that Urhobocha had been behaving strangely and had even attempted to attack him with a knife, though David managed to escape unharmed.
A police team was dispatched to question Urhobocha about the reported attack, but upon arrival, they found the door to the room locked from the inside. The officers forced the door open and found Urhobocha unresponsive.
“He was found deceased in the apartment, with a container of insecticide beside him,” Odutola stated. “He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where the attending doctor confirmed his death. His body has since been taken to the morgue for an autopsy.”
The spokesperson added that an investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
