Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, confirmed on Monday that he has left Nigeria “temporarily” to focus on his “sanity and health.” The controversial cross-dresser shared the update with his followers via Instagram, explaining that the break was essential for his well-being.

Bobrisky revealed frustrations with travel, stating that certain Nigerian security agencies had caused repeated disruptions. He mentioned difficulties with his flights, saying he had to buy business class tickets three times, costing N9.8 million each, but only succeeded on his final attempt. He has since asked KLM to refund the two unused tickets, expressing understanding for the airline’s role but seeking compensation.

He addressed critics in his post, remarking, “Before commenting, check if you could afford three business class tickets.” He added that being out of Nigeria renders the criticisms “meaningless.”

Bobrisky’s departure follows a recent encounter with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), where he was reportedly taken off an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight at Murtala Muhammed International Airport and escorted to Abuja for questioning. Bobrisky claims he sustained injuries during the incident. The EFCC had been investigating alleged bribes, but Bobrisky reportedly denied the claims, leading to his release on bail.
