Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is recovering after being stabbed in the neck during a violent altercation with an intruder at his home on the outskirts of Mumbai. The incident occurred early Thursday morning, according to his aides.
Mumbai Police confirmed the attack followed a heated argument between Khan and an unidentified man who broke into the actor’s residence in the middle of the night. Deputy Commissioner Dixit Gedam revealed that the intruder stabbed Khan six times, with two wounds causing significant injuries.
Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Dr. Nitin Dange, a senior surgeon at the hospital, stated that the operation involved removing the knife and repairing a serious laceration on Khan’s neck. Additional procedures addressed two malignant tumors on his left hand and one on his neck, which were discovered during treatment.
Khan’s aides described the incident as an “attempted robbery” and assured fans that the actor is stable and under close observation. “We urge supporters and journalists to remain calm as the investigation unfolds,” they said in a statement.
The police have launched an inquiry into the attack, assembling a team to identify and apprehend the assailant.
