The New Orleans Saints’ recent defeat to the Carolina Panthers was difficult, compounded by the loss of Chris Olave, who suffered a concussion during the game, adding to the team’s struggles in a 2-7 season. After the injury, Michael Thomas voiced his frustrations with quarterback Derek Carr, who later addressed these criticisms in his postgame remarks.
Derek Carr (on Michael Thomas' comments): "I have love for Mike…and when he does that, I don't really care for that. I've had so many teammates over the years and he's the one dude I haven't got along with."

Carr said he hasn't called him, wishes him the best.
Carr responded to Thomas’ comments, saying, “I have love for Mike… but I don’t appreciate when he does that. I’ve had plenty of teammates over the years, and he’s the one guy I’ve struggled to connect with.” Addressing Thomas’ implication that he was to blame for Olave’s injury, Carr added, “Any time something like that happens, it makes me feel sick to my stomach.”
Despite the tension, Carr emphasized that his primary concern is for Olave’s health. Olave’s positive update, including his return to the stadium and his ability to travel back with the team, was a welcome sign. The ongoing friction between Carr and Thomas, however, appears to have worsened following this incident.
