Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has announced a Christmas bonus of N150,000 for all civil servants in the state.
The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor, shared the news via a Facebook post on Thursday evening. He confirmed that the bonuses would be disbursed before 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
“Every worker in Ebonyi State service will receive N150,000 as a Christmas bonus before 1 p.m. on Tuesday… Gov. Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru,” the post read.
Earlier in October, Nwifuru had approved a minimum wage of N75,000 for state civil servants. According to a statement from his spokesperson, the new minimum wage has already been implemented, following a thorough assessment of the country’s economic challenges, particularly regarding workers’ welfare.
The governor’s announcement noted that civil servants on grade level 2 would receive a full minimum wage of N75,000, while those from grade level 3 and above would see a N40,000 increase across the board.
