Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, stated on Saturday that Nigerians can expect to see the results of Tinubu’s efforts over the past 17 months.
Gbajabiamila emphasized that a “well-rested” Tinubu is ready to elevate the country to a “cruising altitude.”
He made these remarks following the President’s return to Abuja on Saturday night after a two-week working leave in the United Kingdom and France.
“Tinubu is back to resume implementing policies and ensuring that progress is made,” he said. “He’s the captain of the plane, and he’s working diligently to reach our desired goals. In time, Nigerians will witness the fruits of his labor and our collective efforts.”
He urged the public to remain optimistic, stating, “We’ve all been living with renewed hope, and now the President is back to continue his good work.”
President Tinubu’s A330 jet landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport’s Presidential Wing in Abuja around 7:20 PM on Saturday. He was welcomed by several high-ranking officials, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.
The President had left Abuja on Wednesday, October 2, for a two-week vacation, which was part of his annual leave. His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, noted that the trip would serve as both a working vacation and a retreat for reflecting on his administration’s economic reforms.
On October 11, Tinubu traveled from the UK to Paris for “an important engagement,” according to a tweet from his Senior Special Assistant on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Masari.
Gbajabiamila added that the President needed this time away from work. “The workload he has shouldered over the last year and a half warranted some rest. He has returned well-rested and rejuvenated. It was essentially a working holiday, so he was balancing work and rest. Now that he’s back, everyone is ready to get back to business.”
Among those present to welcome the President were Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, All Progressives Congress National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and Ministers of Finance Wale Edun and Budget and Economic Planning Abubakar Bagudu.
