Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has called on Nigerian youths to get involved in politics in order to shape their future and make a positive impact. Speaking at a church service at The Transforming Church in Abuja, Otti emphasized the importance of youth participation in leadership, stating, “If you leave politics to others, they will make decisions for you.”
He encouraged young people to engage in politics as a way to influence the direction of their lives, referencing Psalms 62:11 to remind them that power comes from God, but participation in politics allows them to make the changes they want to see in society.
Otti shared that he transitioned from the banking industry to politics in 2014 to contribute to societal progress, noting that as governor, his decisions impact the entire state. He urged Christians not to rely solely on prayer but to combine it with hard work in order to achieve their goals.
During the service, Pastor Sam Oye, the church’s lead pastor, spoke about God’s goodness and encouraged Nigerians to maintain their faith and keep striving toward their dreams. Reading from Psalm 119:68, he emphasized the importance of kindness and commended Otti for visiting, reaffirming the church’s commitment to praying for those in leadership positions.
