Popular Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has responded to human rights lawyer Femi Falana and his son, rapper Folarin “Falz” Falana, urging them to hold media critic Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, responsible for spreading defamatory content about him on social media.
The issue arose after audio recordings, shared by VeryDarkMan, surfaced online, where Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have paid Falana and his son money to secure a presidential pardon during his legal troubles. One of the audios suggested that Bobrisky paid N10 million to Falana and requested N3 million from Falz to secure better treatment at Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
However, Bobrisky has firmly denied these allegations. In a letter issued by Falana’s legal team, Bobrisky was accused of making false statements that could harm their reputations. The legal representatives demanded a full public apology and retraction across all platforms.
In his response, Bobrisky maintained that he never gave any money to Falana or Falz and suggested that VeryDarkMan, who published the audios, should be held accountable. Bobrisky posted on his Instagram story, saying, “I Okuneye Idris aka Bobrisky didn’t give Falz or his dad any money for pardon… The person that published an audio online should take full responsibility.”
He reiterated that his legal team would address any further inquiries, emphasizing his right to privacy and denying involvement in the dissemination of the defamatory content.
Bobrisky’s stance is that he never publicly made the statements about Falana and Falz, and he believes that the party responsible for publishing the content, VeryDarkMan, should be the one facing legal consequences. He continues to await an official response from his lawyer to the ongoing legal dispute.
