France and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that he declined an offer from Pep Guardiola to join Manchester City during the last transfer window, opting instead to remain with Juventus.

Speaking to Gazzetta, Pogba confirmed the approach from Manchester City: “Yes, I turned down Pep Guardiola’s approach to accept the Juventus proposal. That story is true.”

The 2018 World Cup winner also reiterated his loyalty to Juventus, making it clear that he would never join their Serie A rivals, AC Milan. Pogba emphasized that not even a personal appeal from Zlatan Ibrahimović, now a senior advisor at AC Milan, could persuade him to switch allegiances.

“Will I join AC Milan? Impossible. Even if Ibrahimović calls me, he knows I won’t betray Juve,” Pogba told Sky Sport. “I do not see myself with any other jersey. My focus is on getting back into the Juve shirt.”

Pogba is currently preparing to return to football in January next year, following the reduction of his four-year doping ban to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS). There are ongoing discussions between Pogba and Juventus regarding the possible termination of his contract, with the player being linked to several European clubs, including Marseille.
