Ali Larijani, a senior advisor to Iran’s supreme leader, stated that Iran is preparing a response to recent Israeli military actions, according to the Tasnim news agency on Sunday.
The announcement follows an Israeli airstrike on Iranian military installations on October 26, which was itself preceded by Iran launching approximately 200 ballistic missiles at Israel weeks earlier.
Iran has consistently pledged to retaliate against Israeli aggression, and indications suggest they are now preparing to act on those warnings.
Israeli Defense Forces conducted the strikes in response to Tehran’s earlier missile attack. Following the operation, the Israeli military declared it had achieved its goals and cautioned Iran against retaliating.
Iranian state media reported explosions in Tehran and nearby military sites, beginning in the early hours of the morning. Israeli sources confirmed three waves of strikes before declaring the operation complete.
Iran claimed its air defense systems intercepted the attacks, limiting damage in Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam provinces.
Tensions between the two nations have escalated sharply since October 7, 2023, when Hamas, a Palestinian militant group backed by Iran, launched attacks on Israel. The conflict has been further complicated by the involvement of Hezbollah, a Lebanon-based militia also supported by Iran.
