The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed several establishments, including The Lord’s Chosen Church, Celestial Church, hotels, and restaurants, due to noise pollution violations.
This action is part of the agency’s intensified efforts to curb environmental infractions that threaten public health and safety.
In a statement released on Monday, Dr. Tunde Ajayi, the General Manager of LASEPA, confirmed the agency’s increased enforcement operations across various parts of Lagos State. He emphasized that the crackdown is aimed at addressing the detrimental effects of persistent noise pollution and ensuring compliance with environmental standards.
The targeted areas include Shomolu, Oniru Victoria Island, Jakande-Lekki, Badore Ajah, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Sangotedo, Lekki Phase 1, Ogombo, and Lekki II, among others.
Among the establishments sealed are:
- The Lord’s Chosen Church
- Celestial Church
- Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church
- Zodiac Lounge
- Pixel Park Studio
- Sneakers Suites & Bar
- Wimpy Hotel
- SBL Hotels
- Handsworth Hotel
- West Syde Exclusive Hotel & Suites
- Kobis Restaurant
Dr. Ajayi reiterated LASEPA’s commitment to creating a healthier environment for Lagos residents.
“Noise pollution and other environmental violations disrupt the peace and well-being of our communities. Today’s enforcement highlights our zero-tolerance stance towards offenders and underscores our determination to uphold environmental laws,” he stated.
He urged all businesses and establishments to adhere strictly to environmental regulations to avoid sanctions, reaffirming LASEPA’s resolve to promote a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable Lagos.
