The final member of the eight prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members from Akwa Ibom State, Solomon Bassey Daniel, who was abducted in Zamfara State, has been released.
Mr. Umoh, a family member, confirmed the news on Saturday to pulse, stating that he received the update early Friday morning in Eket Local Government Area, where he was working.
Umoh expressed his immense relief and joy, noting that Daniel was freed on Thursday, August 22.” We were informed last week that my son would be released this week. Although we hadn’t received any updates as of Thursday, I learned this morning that he was freed on that day.
I thank God for this,” Umoh said.Bassey Daniel, the only son of his family and a native of Afahaube Itam in Itu Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, was kidnapped along with seven other prospective corps members on August 17, 2023, while en route to the Sokoto Orientation Camp.
