Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee opened his scoring account for the Netherlands as they comfortably defeated Bosnia-Herzegovina with a 5-2 win in the Nations League.
Zirkzee, who joined from Bologna this summer and was earning his third international cap, netted an impressive header after Xavi Simons’ shot took a deflection.
Ermedin Demirovic equalized for Bosnia with a precise first-time shot following Denis Huseinbasic’s through pass in Eindhoven.
However, Zirkzee later set up Tijjani Reijnders to restore the Dutch lead in stoppage time at the end of the first half.
Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo added a third goal by tapping the ball into an open net from Reijnders’ low cross into the box.
Bosnia pulled one back through Edin Dzeko, who scored his 66th international goal, assisted by Esmir Bajraktarevic.
Substitute Wout Weghorst replaced Zirkzee and netted the Netherlands’ fourth goal, before Simons sealed the victory with a fifth in injury time.
