The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has expressed strong condemnation over the abduction, torture, and killing of Alhaji Isa Bawa, the Sarkin Gobir of Gatawa in Sabon Local Government Area, Sokoto State.

In a statement released on Saturday in Abuja, the National Secretary of MACBAN, Malam Bello Aliyu-Gotomo, described the killing as a tragic and brutal act that highlights the savagery of those responsible.

Aliyu-Gotomo emphasized that there is no justification for the actions of these violent groups.

“MACBAN extends its condolences to the Government of Sokoto State, the Sultan of Sokoto, the family of the late Emir, and the people of the state,” he said. “We strongly urge the Federal Government to intensify efforts in combating the banditry and kidnappings plaguing the North-West region.”

The association distanced itself from the criminal activities, stating, “MACBAN does not condone any form of criminality or support any group involved in such acts, as our association stands firmly against crime.”

He further noted that the ongoing insecurity in these regions has been allowed to persist for too long, disrupting the daily lives of residents.

On behalf of MACBAN members nationwide, Aliyu-Gotomo offered prayers for the deceased, hoping that the Sarkin Gobir’s soul finds peace and eternal rest. He also prayed for strength for the family to bear the loss and urged that the perpetrators be swiftly brought to justice.
