NAFDAC Warns Against Fake Miracle Products from Pastor Fufeyin’s Church

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a warning to the public about the fake products being sold by Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry (CMDM). These products, including “Miracle Water,” “Miracle Soap,” and “Father Smelled Perfume,” are not approved by NAFDAC.

Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, the founder of CMDM, based in Effurun, Delta State, claims these products have healing powers. However, a social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse (VeryDarkMan), raised concerns that the products do not have NAFDAC’s approval. NAFDAC has confirmed that these products are fake and advised the public not to buy them.

NAFDAC received petitions from citizens about CMDM’s claims that their products can heal various conditions. The ministry advertised these products, especially Miracle Water and Miracle Soap, as solutions for issues like barrenness. They falsely claimed the products were registered by NAFDAC, which led many people to visit NAFDAC offices for verification.

The following products from CMDM were submitted for investigation:

  • Miracle & Healing Water
  • River Jordan Water
  • Pool of Bethsaida Water
  • Mount Camel Miracle Water
  • Father Smelled Perfume

NAFDAC investigated these claims and found that CMDM had no records of legal transactions with NAFDAC regarding these products. The products were also discovered to be sold without NAFDAC approval.

On August 14, 2024, NAFDAC officials visited CMDM to investigate the production of the Miracle Water and other products. CMDM representatives denied making the products, despite evidence. NAFDAC later conducted a full investigation, but CMDM officials failed to cooperate.

Legal Actions: On August 27, 2024, NAFDAC, along with the Federal Task Force on Counterfeit Drugs, visited the CMDM ministry again. The officials of the ministry still refused to cooperate. CMDM later submitted legal documents instead of allowing an investigation.

NAFDAC found that CMDM had entered a contract with Globod Table Water in Delta State to produce these unapproved products. As a result, NAFDAC sealed the Globod Table Water factory for aiding the illegal production.

NAFDAC warns the public to avoid these unregistered and potentially harmful products from CMDM. None of the miracle products are approved, and further investigation into CMDM’s activities is ongoing. NAFDAC remains committed to protecting public health and advises faith-based organizations to follow the law when producing regulated products.
