NBA members protest colleague’s detention at Oyo EFCC office

Members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ibadan Branch, stormed the Ibadan, Oyo State office of the Economy and Financial Crimes Commission earlier on Thursday to protest their colleague’s detention by the anti-graft agency.

This is contained in a statement and video posted by a media personality who identifies as #YemieFash on X.com on Thursday.

The statement read, “Nigerian Bar Association, Ibadan Branch is currently protesting against EFCC brutality in Ibadan.

“Apparently, a lawyer is involved this time. The rogues who came to brutalise innocent people in Akure on June 8 also came from this Ibadan command of the EFCC.

“EFCC is fast becoming another SARS.”

The video showed the lawyers in their gowns voicing their displeasure over the excesses of the commission.
