The Nigerian military has arrested a 25-year-old woman, Shamsiyya Ahadu, suspected of transporting ammunition for notorious terrorist leader Bello Turji. The arrest, which took place on December 28, was made by troops from Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West, operating under Operation Fansan Yamma.
Ahadu, along with her accomplice, motorcyclist Ahmed Husaini, was apprehended in the Badarawa area of Shinkafi Local Government Area in Zamfara. She was found in possession of 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines intended for delivery to Turji’s camp.
The military acted on intelligence reports regarding the movement of terrorist logistics along the Kware to Badarawa route. Responding quickly, the troops set up a roadblock, leading to the capture of the suspects.
Both Ahadu and Husaini are currently under investigation by relevant authorities. The military emphasized its ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent the illegal movement of arms in the region.
The military also urged the public to continue providing credible information to aid in the arrest of terrorists and their collaborators.
