Following the October international break, Nigerian footballers are set to resume their club duties across top European leagues this weekend.
Premier League
In the English Premier League, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey are expected to be in the starting lineup for Fulham as they face Aston Villa on Saturday. Both players contributed to Fulham’s recent 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest and will aim to carry that form into this match.
Fulham have had a strong home performance this season, collecting seven of their 11 Premier League points at Craven Cottage. A win against Villa could see them move into the top half of the table.
Wilfred Ndidi will be looking to continue his standout performances for Leicester City as they travel to Southampton. Ndidi, who ranks third in assists in the Premier League with four, has been instrumental in Leicester’s efforts to secure their place in the top flight.
La Liga
In Spain, Umar Sadiq will hope for more playing time when Real Sociedad visit Girona. The forward has struggled for minutes but remains eager to prove his value to the team.
Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke may feature as Sevilla take on Barcelona at the Estadi Olimpic on Sunday. Sevilla will be looking to end a 14-year winless streak at Barcelona, although the task will be challenging given the hosts’ current strong form.
Serie A
In Italy’s Serie A, Samuel Chukwueze has rejoined training with AC Milan ahead of their match against Udinese. Chukwueze had been sidelined with an injury sustained during international duty, but his return will boost Milan’s attacking options.
Ademola Lookman will lead Atalanta’s attack as they travel to face Venezia. Lookman has had an excellent start to the season, with three goals and three assists, playing a key role in Atalanta’s pursuit of a European spot.
Bundesliga
In the Bundesliga, Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella could line up for Bayer Leverkusen against Eintracht Frankfurt. Boniface has made an immediate impact, scoring six goals, and will be crucial to Leverkusen’s title defense.
Frank Onyeka is set to play for Augsburg in their match against Freiburg. Augsburg are yet to secure any points away from home this season, and Onyeka will play a key role in their quest for an improved away performance.
Ligue 1
In France, Moses Simon and Nantes will host Nice on Sunday. Simon will be aiming to help his team secure their first victory in five matches, as they look to climb away from the lower part of the Ligue 1 standings.
Saudi Pro League
In the Saudi Pro League, Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong is expected to feature for Al Kholood in a crucial match against Al Fateh. Both teams are struggling at the lower end of the league table, and Troost-Ekong’s leadership will be vital as Al Kholood aim to improve their position.
