The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has appointed Ben Iloanusi as its acting Managing Director, following the completion of Fidet Okhiria’s second four-year term.
Iloanusi officially took over leadership on October 18. In a statement issued on Sunday, Yakub Mahmood, the NRC’s Deputy Director of Public Relations, confirmed the leadership change and outlined Iloanusi’s professional background.
Iloanusi, who joined the NRC in 2011, is the most senior Executive Director within the corporation and has held the position of Deputy Director of Procurement since 2019. He holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and an MBA in International Management from South Bank University, London.
In his farewell speech, Okhiria expressed appreciation for the support he received from NRC staff during his tenure and urged them to extend similar cooperation to his successor.
“I encourage the management and staff of the corporation to offer the same level of support and understanding to the new acting Managing Director,” Okhiria said.
In response, Iloanusi called for continued support from the workforce and welcomed constructive feedback to help improve the NRC’s operations. He pledged to lead the organization effectively during this transitional period.
