Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the current Governor of Ondo State and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the upcoming governorship election on November 16, has vowed to fulfill all commitments made during his campaign, emphasizing that he will not engage in making empty promises.
While campaigning in the Ose Local Government Area on Saturday, Aiyedatiwa addressed a gathering at the palace of the Alani of Ido Ani. He reiterated his dedication to enhancing security in the region and completing pending road projects.
Communities in this local government, situated near Edo State, have faced ongoing security issues, particularly kidnappings by bandits. In response, the governor assured residents that he would increase the deployment of security personnel to address these challenges.
“Unlike other candidates who offer promises they fail to keep, I am committed to taking action and delivering effective governance,” Aiyedatiwa stated.
He further noted, “We understand the needs of this community, even before you express them. Therefore, my Special Adviser on Infrastructure is tasked with identifying your needs and reporting back for prompt action. We recognize the importance of roads, healthcare, and education for your people. That’s why we are determined to ensure that no community is overlooked. We are ready to better serve you and foster meaningful development throughout Ose Local Government.”
In their addresses, the Alani of Ido Ani, Oba Olufemi Olutoye, and the Onidogun of Idogun, Oba Moses Bakare, urged the government to tackle the issues stemming from the poor road infrastructure in the region. They emphasized that inadequate infrastructure hampers economic activities and limits access to essential services for their communities.
The monarchs also called for enhancements to healthcare facilities, renovations of schools, and increased political inclusion, encouraging the governor to provide more political appointments for the residents of Ose Local Government.
Additionally, Oba Rotimi Obamuagun, the Onimoru of Imoru Land in Ose LGA, urged Governor Aiyedatiwa to intensify efforts to combat security challenges in the region. He highlighted the pressing need for improved safety measures, especially in rural areas where residents face ongoing security threats.
“Farming is a crucial aspect of our livelihood, but insecurity endangers both farmers and traders who depend on these activities for survival. We need the government to bolster security in our communities to protect our people and restore their peace of mind,” pleaded Oba Obamuagun.
