A barrage of 150 missiles fired by Hezbollah from southern Lebanon into Israel on Saturday has left one person dead and several others injured, according to Israeli emergency services. The attacks have escalated cross-border violence, which has intensified in recent weeks.
A 50-year-old man was killed in Acre, northern Israel, after being struck by shrapnel while sitting in his car. Another individual at the same location was injured by shrapnel and was transported to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya in moderate condition.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the launches, with missiles also targeting Haifa and the surrounding areas. A home in Kiryat Ata sustained damage, and ten people in the area were taken to the hospital, three of whom suffered shrapnel injuries. Others were treated for shock.
In Western Galilee, four more individuals were hospitalized after an open road was damaged by missile strikes, including a man in moderate condition due to shrapnel injuries.
While cross-border attacks have become more frequent recently, Israeli casualties remain relatively rare. However, the escalation signals rising tensions between Hezbollah and Israel.
