Renowned Pakistani TV host and influencer Mathira Mohammad has addressed a recent controversy surrounding alleged private videos of her circulating online. Following similar incidents involving other public figures, explicit clips purportedly featuring Mathira have been shared widely on social media, though their authenticity remains unverified.
The 32-year-old influencer took to X (formerly Twitter) to denounce the misuse of her name and photos, stating:
“People are misusing my name and my photoshoot pictures and adding fake stuff in. Please have shame! Keep me out of this trashy nonsense.”
Mathira, who is also a model, singer, dancer, and actor, has a significant following with over 2 million Instagram followers and around 59,000 followers on X.
This incident comes amid growing concerns about deepfake videos and data breaches, which have been central to similar controversies recently.
Earlier, TikTok star Imsha Rehman faced a viral leak of a private video, which drew heavy backlash from social media users. Accused of seeking attention, Rehman described the criticism as overwhelming before deactivating her social media accounts.
Another Pakistani social media personality, Minahil Malik, faced a similar situation when an alleged intimate video of her with her boyfriend surfaced online. Malik claimed the video was fake and lodged a formal complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Additionally, on November 15, an explicit video allegedly involving Indonesian e-sports star Lydia Onic was leaked online. The authenticity of the clip remains unconfirmed.
These incidents have reignited discussions about online privacy, the ethical use of technology, and the mental health toll on individuals targeted by such leaks.
