Peller-Jarvis Love Story Sparks Admiration and Criticism
TikTok sensations Habeeb Hazmat, known as Peller, and Elizabeth Amaduo, aka Jarvis, have been making headlines recently due to their relationship and individual careers.
Last weekend, Peller celebrated a significant achievement by winning two awards—TikTok Influencer of the Year and Next Gen Influencer of the Year—at the Pulse Influencer Awards. A standout moment of the event was his passionate kiss with girlfriend Jarvis, which followed his heartfelt dedication of the awards to her.
While many admired the couple’s display of affection, others criticized Jarvis for seemingly sidelining her successful career as an AI skit maker to focus solely on her relationship with Peller. An X user, @UnkleAyo, expressed this sentiment, stating, “I might get heat for this, but I’ll say it regardless. That Jarvis girl found an untapped niche, was thriving in it, had the entire nation follow her content, only to dump it and reduce herself to Iyawo Peller. There’s no way you look at it; it just doesn’t make sense. Untapped niches are critically hard to find. To find one, be insanely good at it, and thrive is a goldmine. I loved consuming her content. Now the speed with which I scroll past it…”
Unhappy with the criticism, Peller responded with an expletive-laden live stream, defending Jarvis against the negative comments.
Former Big Brother Naija housemate and comedian Dee One weighed in on the debate, asserting that both content creators achieved success independently and do not require validation from older celebrities. He suggested that many of the older generation are envious of the couple’s accomplishments.
Another social media personality countered the criticism, arguing that the duo might be earning more money together than they would separately.
Jarvis, on her part, clarified her recent absence from posting AI-themed content, revealing a serious dental issue that turned out to be a tumor in her jaw. She shared, “Let me tell you what happened. I thought it was a tooth problem, but the doctor said I had a tumor in my jawline. The last time I went to the clinic, the dentist took something from it to check the tumor before the surgery. I heard the result is out. I just pray it’s not that bad because it’s spoiling my face.”
The Rise of Jarvis
Jarvis, inspired by the AI character “Just A Rather Intelligent System” from the popular movie “Iron Man,” also looked to Canadian social media personality Pinky Doll for creative inspiration. She aimed to craft a unique approach to AI content that hadn’t been seen in Nigeria. Over time, the graduate of Accounting from Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma, Edo State, has collaborated with other TikTok creators like Mr. Heelarious and Lord Lamba and has appeared in films, including A Weekend Away.
The Journey of Peller
Peller burst onto the TikTok scene in 2021 and quickly amassed a large following. He currently holds the record for the highest-viewed streams in Africa, achieving 76,000 views, surpassing his previous record of 60,000 views featuring popular artist Olamide. Additionally, he was named ‘Best Content Creator’ at the Trace Awards and Festival in 2024.
As their love story unfolds amidst public scrutiny and accolades, Peller and Jarvis continue to captivate audiences with both their personal and professional journeys.
