Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, paid a visit to Minna, Niger State, yesterday to engage with two prominent leaders and reaffirm his dedication to unity and nation-building.
In a series of posts on his X account, Obi revealed that his first stop was at the residence of former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida. Describing Babangida as a “father figure, elder statesman, and leader,” Obi said the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange New Year greetings and discuss pressing national matters.
“General Babangida’s insights and perspectives are invaluable. I always cherish the opportunity to visit and listen to his wise counsel,” Obi stated, reiterating his commitment to the vision of a “new Nigeria.”
Obi also met with former Niger State Governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, to express his condolences following the recent loss of Aliyu’s mother and younger sister. He noted, “I offered my heartfelt sympathy and underscored the importance of solidarity during difficult times.” Their discussions extended to nation-building and other critical national issues.
Concluding his engagements, Obi visited former President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja. He lauded Jonathan’s patriotic stance on national affairs, expressing gratitude for his advice and guidance.
“Ex-President Jonathan’s patriotic approach to national issues remains commendable. I appreciate his wisdom and wish him and his family a successful and fulfilling year ahead,” Obi shared.
These visits highlight Obi’s ongoing commitment to fostering dialogue and collaboration with key stakeholders to build a brighter future for Nigeria.
