The Nigerian Police Force has reported the arrest of 751 individuals in connection with cybercrime-related fraud during the year 2024.
Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi revealed the statistics while presenting the agency’s annual performance report. He noted that the police had secured 14 convictions from 508 cases during the year under review.
Adejobi also disclosed that $840,000 was recovered and returned to victims of cybercrime. Additionally, a total of ₦914 million and over $115,000 were frozen across various bank accounts and cryptocurrency wallets.
Further details from the report highlighted the recovery of 26 vehicles, 16 houses, and 39 plots of land, which were linked to cybercrime activities.
