Police Inform Abuja Residents About Crisis Response Drill

The Nigeria Police Force has informed residents of the Federal Capital Territory about an upcoming security simulation exercise set for Thursday, November 28, 2024.
The drill, organized in partnership with the Office of the National Security Adviser, will be conducted near Idu Train Station between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the exercise is part of the federal government’s efforts to improve the readiness of security agencies in tackling security challenges across Nigeria.
“To strengthen the fight against all forms of crime and criminal activities in the country, the Federal Government has launched a joint operation and training drill to ensure security forces are well-equipped to respond to emerging threats,” the statement said.
The Nigeria Police Force, in collaboration with the National Security Adviser’s office, has notified residents in and around the Federal Capital Territory about the crisis response simulation, which will take place at Idu Train Station on Thursday, 28th November 2024, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Authorities have urged residents to remain calm during the exercise, which will involve controlled explosions as part of the scenario. The police reassured the public that the simulation is safe and aims to assess emergency response efficiency.
