Presidency Alerts Citizens as Israel-Iran Conflict Escalates, Announces Evacuation Plans
The Presidency has issued a warning regarding the intensifying conflict between Israel and Iran and has revealed plans to evacuate Nigerian citizens currently in Lebanon.
This announcement comes in response to Iran’s launch of numerous missiles aimed at Israel, a retaliation for the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
The conflict has escalated significantly as of Tuesday, raising global alarms. Daniel Hagari, a spokesperson for the Israeli military, has stated that they will respond decisively to this “serious attack.” This escalation is a continuation of tensions from an earlier incident in April when Iran targeted Israel with over 300 drones and missiles.
In a statement released on October 1, the Presidency instructed Nigerians residing in Lebanon to reach out to the Nigerian mission for proper documentation and evacuation arrangements.
Dada Olusegun, the special adviser on social media to President Bola Tinubu, shared this information via a tweet on Tuesday night.
