Queen Dami, the former wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi, has officially ended her two-year relationship with controversial singer Portable. The announcement was made on Thursday, marking the end of what had been a tumultuous union.
Portable, known for his erratic behavior and polygamous lifestyle, has eight children with multiple partners. The public fallout began on Wednesday during an Instagram Live session hosted by Queen Dami. Portable joined the session and scolded her for being online.
“What are you doing online? You are someone’s wife and shouldn’t be engaging in nonsense,” Portable said.
Dami, visibly uncomfortable, attempted to diffuse the tension, but Portable continued his tirade. She ended the session and later posted on Instagram: “Alihamdulihaji, I’m done. This is too much for me; I can’t take this embarrassment. Ire oo.”
Ongoing Disputes
This latest incident follows a series of public spats between the pair. In November, Portable accused Dami of disrupting his business by driving women away from his bar and not appreciating his financial support for her son, who is also the late king’s child.
On Thursday, Portable escalated the conflict by releasing a video filled with accusations.
“God saved me from someone trying to destroy me. Queen Dami has packed out. I have a wife at home. I dated her for two years, and she claimed to have lost multiple pregnancies. She had nothing when I met her—I gave her money, an apartment, and a shop.
“She begged me to take her seriously, and I agreed despite my wife. But now she’s accusing me. I don’t want her to harm me like she did the Alaafin,” he said.
Queen Dami Responds
In her response, Dami dismissed Portable’s accusations of clout chasing, stating that her focus was on promoting her business. She also accused him of abuse.
“I didn’t come to you; you approached me. You’ve always been a ‘mad musician.’ Since we met, your career has improved. You call me names and beat me constantly. Is that the kind of apartment men get for their wives? I left because you threatened to kill me.”
Dami also refuted Portable’s claims about their relationship status.
“You never married me or met my family. You made me a kept woman. I don’t have freedom, and I’ve been left bruised by your constant beatings. I move around on motorcycles while your wife drives cars.
“You said I approached you on social media, but you were the one who slid into my DMs. When I was with the Alaafin, I didn’t even know who Portable was.”
A Controversial Love Story
Portable and Queen Dami’s relationship became public in August 2023, sparking widespread reactions. Queen Dami, a mother of one, had previously made headlines in 2020 after leaving the Alaafin’s palace and later returning to apologize publicly.
After the Alaafin’s death, her quest for love led her to Portable, who refers to himself as the “street king.”
