The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has made a public appeal for evidence as it investigates allegations of homosexual misconduct involving two of its leaders. The church has provided a dedicated phone number and email address for members and the general public to submit any relevant information.
On Tuesday, reports indicated that Pastor Ayorinde AdeBello and Deacon Oke Mayowa had been suspended from their roles amid claims of misconduct involving young members of the church. RCCG has tasked its Special Assistant to the General Overseer in Administration with leading a thorough investigation, set to conclude within two weeks.
In an official statement on Tuesday evening, National Overseer Pastor Sunday Akande confirmed that RCCG is actively seeking verifiable evidence related to the allegations. Titled “RCCG Addresses Allegations Against Youth Ministers,” the statement emphasized the importance of credible information: “We invite anyone with pertinent evidence to assist in our investigation, but only submissions directly relevant to the case will be reviewed.”
The contact information provided for evidence submission includes the email rccgadm@gmail.com and phone number 09039000700. The church urged cooperation to uphold its commitment to a fair and transparent investigation.
As a precaution, both youth ministers have been placed on indefinite suspension and removed from all duties pending the investigation’s outcome.
Pastor Akande also reaffirmed the church’s founding principles of holiness and transparency, emphasizing that RCCG will neither tolerate actions contrary to its values nor attempt to shield any wrongdoing.
“We are committed to transparency and justice and appreciate any assistance in this matter,” the statement concluded.
