A Russian passenger plane made an emergency landing at Antalya Airport in southern Turkey on Sunday after one of its engines caught fire.

The Azimuth Airlines flight, which had 87 passengers and 4 crew members aboard, landed safely, and all on board were evacuated without injury.

The aircraft, a Sukhoi SuperJet 100-95LR, had departed from Sochi, a resort town on the Black Sea, and was approaching Antalya when a fire broke out in its left engine. Emergency teams quickly arrived to extinguish the flames and control the smoke.

The incident occurred under challenging weather conditions as the plane touched down on runway 36R at 21:30 TRT. While the cause of the fire is not yet determined, authorities have indicated that an investigation will be conducted.

According to Suat Seyitoglu, an official quoted by The Moscow Times, all passengers and crew were evacuated safely, and the fire was promptly extinguished with no injuries reported.
