German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, speaking before the German parliament, expressed strong opposition to Iran’s recent missile attacks on Israel, which were reportedly in retaliation for the deaths of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut and Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, both attributed to the Israel Defense Forces. Scholz emphasized that Germany would not accept such actions from Iran, warning that “Iran is playing with fire” and stressing that the aggression towards Israel must come to an end.
In a statement reported by Israel Radar, Scholz reiterated, “We won’t accept Iran attacking Israel… Iran is playing with fire. This must stop.”
He further affirmed Germany’s commitment to supporting Israel, stating that Germany would continue to supply arms to Israel to ensure the country’s ability to defend itself.

Just days earlier, during a Bundestag debate, Scholz addressed the October 7th, 2023, attack by Hamas, where the group launched thousands of rockets into Israel during a Jewish holiday. He confirmed that Germany had been providing military aid to Israel and would continue to do so, with plans for further deliveries in place.
In response to these developments, Iran had launched around 200 missiles at Israel, following the deaths of Nasrallah and Haniyeh.
