South Korea has delivered a sharp warning to North Korea, declaring that any harm inflicted on South Korean citizens would result in the downfall of Pyongyang’s regime.
This warning comes in response to North Korea’s recent threat of a “horrible disaster,” which it claims could occur following alleged drone flights over its capital. According to Pulse Lens and Yonhap, North Korean state media published a statement from Kim Yo-jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, warning of retaliatory action.
The tensions escalated after North Korea accused South Korean unmanned drones of flying over Pyongyang on three separate occasions this month.
In a response issued to reporters, the South Korean defense ministry stated, “We strongly warn that if North Korea endangers the safety of our citizens, it will mark the end of the North Korean regime.”
