The Department of Investigation under Libya’s Stability Support Agency has apprehended six Nigerian nationals—one male and five females—in connection with drug trafficking activities. The suspects were found with a significant quantity of cocaine intended for distribution.
The arrests followed a coordinated operation in Tripoli, Libya’s capital. The confiscated drugs have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
The Migrant Rescue Watch confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, revealing that the suspects have been transferred to the public prosecution for legal proceedings.
The statement read:
“The Stability Support Agency – Dept. of Investigation dismantled a drug trafficking network in Tripoli, arresting six migrants of Nigerian nationality (1 male and 5 females). The individuals were found in possession of a large quantity of cocaine ready for distribution. All suspects have been referred to public prosecution for legal action.”
