South African Vice President Paul Mashatile Collapses During Event
South Africa’s Vice President, Paul Mashatile, collapsed at a public event in Limpopo on Saturday afternoon. The incident took place while he was giving a speech in Tzaneen during the inauguration of a local traditional leader.
The Limpopo provincial government indicated that Mashatile had been struggling with the intense heat, but he is now reported to be in stable condition. Phophi Ramathuba, the province’s premier and a medical doctor, confirmed that the Vice President is not in any danger and is being looked after by his medical team.
Ramathuba, who witnessed the situation, stated, “The Deputy President is doing well and is under the care of his medical team. I was with them, and he is fine. There’s no cause for concern.”
Mashatile collapsed due to the extreme heat while addressing the gathering, but he received immediate assistance and is currently recovering.
