The inauguration of a Project Implementation Committee (PIC) between Silicon Valley Nigeria Economic Development (SV-NED Inc. USA/SV-NED Energy Ltd) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), supported by foreign investors, marks a significant step toward driving Nigeria’s economic growth, skills development, and job creation. The initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
During the ceremony in Abuja, HRH Queen Mother Amb. Amina Temitope Labinjo Ajayi, popularly known as “Mama Diaspora” and Chairman of SV-NED Inc. USA/SV-NED Energy Ltd, described the collaboration as a transformative effort to empower Nigerian youth and promote national unity.
“The launch of this committee is a strategic milestone toward national development. It supports the Renewed Hope Agenda by focusing on impactful projects such as the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Conversion Centre and affordable housing initiatives,” Ajayi stated.
Amb. Ajayi reaffirmed the commitment of SV-NED and NYSC to providing the leadership and guidance necessary for the success of these projects, highlighting their potential to generate economic opportunities for Nigerian youth.
The NYSC Director-General, represented by the Director of Legal Services, emphasized the collaboration’s extended benefits, which include equipping corps members with valuable skills and insights into the oil and gas industry.
Notable attendees included Momoh Mohammed, NYSC Director of Ventures; Christopher Ogar, NYSC Director of Legal Services; Kehinde Aremu, NYSC Director of Sales; and Engr. Kamaru Busari, Director of Upstream at the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
The event also featured housing initiatives spearheaded by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. Amb. Ajayi unveiled plans to tackle Nigeria’s housing deficit by constructing 10,112 housing units as part of the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Programme.
The ceremony concluded with a shared commitment from stakeholders to work collaboratively in realizing the partnership’s goals, positioning it as a model for sustainable economic growth and youth empowerment in Nigeria.
