President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed that his administration is fully aware of the hardships Nigerians are currently facing, acknowledging the challenges while emphasizing the need for patience in addressing them.

Speaking on his behalf at a service marking Pastor Tunde Bakare’s 70th birthday in Lagos, George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, noted that while the country’s economic difficulties are significant, progress is being made. Akume further emphasized that complex problems do not have immediate solutions, likening them to the slow process of brewing coffee.

“The President recognizes the hardships, but he believes that, in the end, there is always light at the end of the tunnel,” Akume said. “The solutions we seek cannot be immediate, but we are definitely on the right path.”

These economic difficulties are linked to recent policy reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the Naira, which the government views as necessary steps for the country’s economic recovery.

In his tribute to Pastor Bakare, President Tinubu praised the spiritual leader for his unwavering commitment to justice and integrity. He referred to Bakare as “a beacon of hope and a voice for the voiceless,” recognizing his significant contributions both in spiritual and national matters.

Other notable figures, including the governors of Lagos and Ogun states, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dapo Abiodun, also expressed admiration for Bakare’s long-lasting influence in both political and religious spheres.
