‘Truth be told, I won’t lie to you. I’m not in prison but I’m close by’ – Idris Okuneye
Popular cross-dresser and social media influencer Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, has sparked a wave of reactions online after an audio recording surfaced, revealing that he was not in prison, contrary to public belief. In the recording, shared by another social media figure, Martins Otse (popularly known as VeryDarkMan), Bobrisky confirmed that while he was not incarcerated, he had been placed in a special apartment arranged by his influential ‘godfather.’
The controversial revelation came amid ongoing discussions about Bobrisky’s alleged special treatment by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The audio, released on Monday, October 7, 2024, quotes the cross-dresser explaining that he was situated near the prison, enjoying privileges granted through connections.
In the leaked voice note, Bobrisky is quoted as saying, “Truth be told, I won’t lie to you, you’re my person. I’m not in prison, but I’m around there. They got me an apartment because of my godfather. My godfather made sure I wouldn’t step foot in prison.”
He further added, “Let the world think what they want, but you will never see me in a prison cell. My godfather spoke to the Deputy Controller in Nigeria, and they agreed that as long as I’m not posting or making public statements, they would keep me nearby. I can visit, see my family, and no one has to know.”
These statements have caused widespread shock and raised concerns among the public, with many calling for an urgent investigation into the matter.
