Two individuals sustained varying injuries following a crash near the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) Headquarters, along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, heading towards Oshodi Oke.
The accident occurred on Tuesday morning when a commercial bus experienced brake failure and collided with a culvert.
LASTMA confirmed the incident in a statement posted on its X handle on Wednesday, stating that the bus was traveling at a high speed when it lost control, causing alarm among other road users.
“We recorded an unfortunate incident in front of LASTMA HQ, heading towards Oshodi Oke on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway. A commercial bus suffered a brake failure and crashed into the culvert,” the statement read.
The statement further confirmed that two individuals were injured and being transported to a nearby hospital. LASTMA officials were on-site to manage the situation and alleviate traffic congestion caused by the crash.
The affected bus was promptly removed to restore normal traffic flow.
