Nigerian social media influencer and activist, Martins Vincent Otse, better known as Verydarkman (VDM), has intensified his confrontation with Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.
On Monday, October 7, VDM dropped Part 2 of a series of explosive audio recordings, further escalating the ongoing controversy surrounding the popular transgender influencer. The release has sparked significant reactions across social media platforms.
Following denials from officials of the EFCC and the prison allegedly linked to the scandal, VDM’s timely release appears to have been strategically planned, as he reveals new information that casts further doubt on Bobrisky’s claims.
The newly released audio, reportedly recorded in May 2024, offers insight into Bobrisky’s alleged experiences during a period of reported detention in a private prison. In the recording, Bobrisky is said to be overheard making a phone call in which she discusses her connections with a powerful ‘Godfather,’ who allegedly arranged for a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) to intervene in the situation.
The audio also purportedly captures Bobrisky talking about dealings with prison officials and the EFCC, hinting at the extent of her influence. In a striking revelation, Bobrisky allegedly addresses large sums of money found in her account by the EFCC, attributing the funds to her work as an influencer, where she claims to earn up to $100,000 per assignment.
An unexpected element in the audio is the presence of a background voice, reportedly that of a maid assigned to Bobrisky during her time in the alleged private prison. This detail has left VDM and his supporters questioning the level of influence Bobrisky wields within the system.
VDM did not shy away from calling out the implicated parties. Along with the release of the audio, he tagged prison officials who had previously denied involvement, daring them to respond to the new evidence.
In his post, VDM wrote:
“Before they file a lawsuit, @official_bto come and see what happened in your prison. This is a detailed confession from Bobrisky, involving the EFCC, SAN, and prison officials. Bobrisky even had a maid in the alleged prison.”
