The Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed the arrest of a suspected vote-buyer during the Ondo State governorship election.

The individual was apprehended at Ward 4, Polling Unit 007, located outside St. Stephen’s Primary School in Akure, Ondo State, around 9 a.m. on election day.

According to eyewitness accounts, the suspect was found in possession of two bags filled with cash, allegedly intended for voter inducement.

Footage from the scene shows DSS officials escorting the individual away while securing the money as evidence. The incident underscores heightened efforts by security agencies to curb electoral malpractices and ensure a fair voting process.

The DSS has not yet disclosed the identity of the suspect or the source of the funds. Investigations are ongoing, and further updates are expected as the situation develops.
