Afrobeats superstar Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has smashed multiple streaming records on Spotify with his latest single, ‘Kese (Dance)’, solidifying his global dominance in music.

Breaking His Own Records

Wizkid’s ‘Kese (Dance)’ received a staggering 1.57 million streams on Spotify Nigeria within 24 hours of its release, surpassing his previous record of 1.016 million streams set by his R&B collaboration ‘Piece Of My Heart’ with American singer Brent Faiyaz.

Globally, the track also set a new benchmark for African music, recording an impressive 2.753 million opening-day streams on Spotify worldwide.

A Tribute to His Late Mother

‘Kese (Dance)’ is one of the lead singles from Wizkid’s highly anticipated album ‘Morayo’, scheduled for release later this month. The album is a heartfelt dedication to his late mother, Mrs. Morayo Jane Balogun, who passed away earlier this year.

Speaking about the project, Wizkid expressed that ‘Morayo’ would celebrate his mother’s influence and legacy, blending his signature Afrobeats sound with deeper emotional undertones.

Fans Celebrate the Milestone

The new records have sparked celebration among fans and industry figures alike, with many praising Wizkid’s continued influence and innovation in global music.

As excitement builds for the release of ‘Morayo’, Wizkid once again demonstrates why he remains a trailblazer in the African and global music scenes.
