The long-running tension between Afrobeats icons Wizkid and Davido has flared up once again on social media. Wizkid recently posted a series of tweets aimed at Davido, reigniting their public rivalry.

As Wizkid gears up for the release of ‘Morayo,’ the first single from his forthcoming album, he’s been busy hosting listening events in cities like Paris and London. Despite his hectic schedule, the artist found time to stir up controversy online.

The latest exchange appears to have been triggered by a tweet from Tycoone, Davido’s creative director, posted on October 1st, 2024. Tycoone’s tweet, which hinted at Wizkid, read: “A certain Daddy should drop new music.”

Wizkid responded by retweeting the post and following up with a string of cryptic tweets. One of his messages, “Pussy boys dropping mids again! ❤️🦅,” was interpreted by fans as a direct criticism of Davido’s latest music release.

Additionally, Wizkid revived a past diss by referring to Davido as “Frogido,” a term mocking Davido’s vocal style. He later escalated the feud, explicitly calling Davido “wack” and questioning his talent.

As the feud heats up, any potential for a collaboration or joint tour between these Afrobeats stars seems more unlikely than ever.
