Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russia of using Ukraine as a testing ground for missiles with intercontinental ballistic capabilities. Speaking through a post on his X account on Thursday, Zelenskyy alleged that a recent Russian missile attack displayed characteristics of such advanced weaponry.
While investigations are ongoing to confirm the specifics of the missile, Zelenskyy condemned what he described as Russia’s “disdain for dignity, freedom, and human life.”
“Our neighbor’s actions today once again reveal its true nature—driven by fear and an inability to coexist with an independent, dignified Ukraine,” he stated. He went on to suggest that Russia’s repeated missile strikes and alleged reliance on weapon supplies from countries like Iran and North Korea highlight its desperation.
Zelenskyy described the attack as another example of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s attempt to suppress Ukraine’s desire for freedom. He expressed gratitude to Ukrainian defenders, lauding their resilience and strength in countering aggression.
This latest incident comes amid heightened tensions between Ukraine and Russia, particularly following the United States’ decision to allow Ukraine to deploy long-range missiles within Russian territory, further intensifying the conflict.
